Hi, my name is Ivan Ansari, i was born in Madrid, raised in Minnesota and ended up coming back to Spain (my mother really missed the weather back here). I have quite an inquisitive mind and i really love learning new things from all kinds of fields! I ended up studying biology and due to my passion for tech i ended up getting a master's in bioinformatics which i saw as an interesting mix and a way to get introduced into coding while using this skillset to study genomes and try to obtain useful information from huge chunks of data.
Through the next few years i've been working in the field of bioinformatics in a reasearch team from the University of Valencia and the Foundation for the Promotion of Health and Biomedical Research of the Valencian Region (FISABIO). During this lapse of time i've been using mostly Python, Bash and R mixed with a few other bioinformatic software. Using these tools I offered bioinformatic support to the group and later on, worked on a project developing a web application using R Shiny to datamine public health records and scan for possible outbreaks occurring for a certain microorganism and geographical area applying statistical methodologies, obtaining a possible application for automated outbreak surveillance and a tool for researchers.
During my time as a bioinformatician, my passion for coding grew and i decided to try and shift my career towards web development, starting out a brand new adventure learning through online courses (mostly centered around the MERN stack) and documentation while building up my own projects.
